first

Today was the first time I went to Walmart and didn't buy anything.
I am damn proud of myself. :]

Yesterday was the first Valentine's Day I have ever spent with someone. It was really...nerve wracking. I didn't know what to do and what to say. So instead I just went shopping at the local crafts store and tried to find whatever I could to make her Valentine's Day special. I ended up leaving with 1.5yd black cloth, red&silver craft wire, ribbons, gift bag, and red tissue paper. With all that, I went down to Pavilions to buy some random stuff, like GummiBears and some TeddyGrahams. I had went to Walmart the previous day to buy some other stuff, like Reese's Peanut Butter Hearts and brownie mix. I made a blanket, some hearts made out of the craft wire, and bagged a whole bunch of the Teddy Graham Crackers along with the Valentine "Will U Be Mine" candies, and made a card for her. I put everything in a small gift bag and had a rose alongside it.

Anyway, she came back from school, and I pretended it was just like any other weekend. I told her that today would be a good day to teach her how to cook, so we started cooking some meals (that I had decided on making awhile ago). What she didn't know was, when I said I needed something from my room, I was actually in there lighting candles and making sure everything was good. I had bought these glass candle holders that were red on the top, so everything glowed red...and I placed them all over my room.

Ah, but I digress. We had cooked dinner and everything, and after that, I told her I had a surprise for her. I told her to sit down and close her eyes. I went to get the blanket first, then surprised her with that. The look on her face was confusion at first, then she started smiling. I told her I wasn't done with the surprises and told her to close her eyes yet again. That's when I busted out the gift bag and rose. She really liked them! After all this, we started making brownies...

At one point, I decided that I wanted to take some pictures, so I told her to go into my room to get the camera...and that would be my last surprise. I had already lit all the candles in my room and when she walked inside, her reaction (she told me) was, "wtf?" and then "aww." She had told me some time ago that she always wanted to walk into a room or house filled with candles, with rose petals on the ground. Well, I couldn't get the petals so I just got candles. But yea, overall, our Valentine's Day might not have been the most eventful, but it was the most meaningful...and that's all that matters.

Have a good one everybody. I hope your trust stays strong and your love stays even stronger.
